Spoken

In my weekly Tangle Club with Joanna Quincey, we drew a fantastic tile that I'm positive will be going into a regular rotation for me.

At first, when she introduced Spoken as the main feature, I was not enthused.  I'd attempted this tangle in the past and had never been satisfied with the results.  However I decided to just go with it purely to enjoy time tangling and for no other reason.

Whoa, do I have a new appreciation for Spoken now!  I think the difference for me was drawing the spokes in two layers, each spinning in a different direction.  I simply LOVE the movement and the "background" spaces have endless possibilities for inserting filler tangles.

The first tile we drew together during the club meeting used Diva Dance in the background.  Immediately after club ended, I started another tile with a fescue-inspired background (originally learned from an Eni Oken class) which I'm not sure has a name.

I'm brimming with ideas for iterating on this tile structure and I'm pretty sure you'll see more from me along the same vein.
